Welcome to Huahuaxie (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Policy explains how we handle information related to you when you use the App and our website at https://huahuaxie.com.

Huahuaxie is a reading client for traditional Chinese culture stories. Most content is loaded from our own website inside an in-app WebView. You may use core features as a guest without registering; you may also sign in with Google or Apple.

1. Information we may process

1.1 Information you provide

  • Content you send us via feedback or email (such as a problem description or contact address).
  • Optional sign-in: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive and store locally on your device the display name, avatar URL (Google), and email address you authorize. Apple usually does not provide an avatar; a name may be returned only on first authorization. In the current version this is mainly used to show identity on the “Me” screen and is not uploaded to our own servers by default (if we later sync with website accounts, we will update this Policy and notify you).

1.2 Information generated when you use the service

  • Device and app information: device model, OS version, app version, and similar data for compatibility and troubleshooting. We do not request contacts, photo library, microphone, or precise location permissions beyond what is necessary for normal operation.
  • Network and log information: when you access our website or APIs, servers may record IP address, time, request path, User-Agent, and similar operational logs for security and maintenance.
  • Cookies and local storage: when the WebView loads our site, cookies and LocalStorage may be used similarly to a normal browser for page features, preferences, or analytics (subject to the site’s actual configuration). Sign-in sessions may be kept in the App’s local storage.

1.3 Information we do not actively collect

In the current version we do not require your real name or government ID; sign-in is optional; and we do not sell your personal information. If we have not integrated third-party advertising or push SDKs, we do not collect data for those purposes. Authentication is handled by Google / Apple under their own privacy policies; we only use display information within the scope you authorize.

2. How we use information

Where permitted by applicable law, we may use relevant information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the reading service and app stability;
  • handle your feedback and complaints;
  • protect service security and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • comply with laws or respond to lawful requests from competent authorities.
  • In-app content opens our operated website in a WebView. Cookies, local storage, and any analytics tools on the website are subject to this Policy and the third-party policies actually used by the site.
  • When you open an external link, the App may launch the system browser. Your interaction with that third-party site is governed by its privacy policy; we cannot control its practices.

4. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may provide necessary information only when:

  • we have your prior consent;
  • it is required by processors that help us deliver the service (such as cloud hosting or email), under contractual protections;
  • required by law, litigation, arbitration, or compulsory requests from administrative or judicial authorities;
  • necessary to protect the legitimate rights of us, our users, or the public.

5. Storage location and retention

  • Logs and website data may be stored in regions where our cloud providers operate (which may involve cross-border transfer; we take reasonable and practicable security measures).
  • We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information (such as HTTPS and access controls). No method of internet transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Children’s privacy

The service is intended for general users. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe we have collected such information in error, contact us using the details below and we will investigate promptly.

8. Your rights

Under applicable law, you may contact us to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your information, or to ask questions about this Policy. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The effective date will be posted on this page. For material changes, we may notify you in the App or on the website. Continued use of the service means you acknowledge the updated Policy.

10. Contact us

If our registered business name or address is updated, we will publish it on this page.
